Restaurants

A North American hotspot for fine dining, Montreal shines with its rich, diverse selection of restaurants varying from the quiet neighborhood café to the most happening place in the city. We've selected a few "not to be missed".

NEWTOWN
Located right in the centre of downtown Montreal, the Newtown is a three floor complex with a lounge, a restaurant and a terrace. It offers three different environments and styles for having a drink, enjoying inventive cuisine and admiring a panoramic view of the city. Newly renovated, the restaurant offers an exquisite dining experience with its reputable Chef Marc-André Lussier and its unmatched pastry chef Patrice Demers.

QUEUE DE CHEVAL
The spotlight is on beef at this trendy American-style steakhouse, where the atmosphere is upbeat and elegant. Expensive but well worth it!

FERREIRA
Portuguese at its best! Ferreira Café has what is widely considered to be one of Canada’s top Portuguese wine cellars, with an exceptional selection of wines and ports. A refined Mediterranean décor completes the picture.

LEMÉAC
Traditional and lively French bistro located on the charming Laurier Street. It offers a classic but reinvented cuisine with an excellent wine selection. Try their nice brunches on week-ends!

PIMENT ROUGE
Refined Szechuan dining. Elegant décor and attentive service.

SHO-DAN
For excellent sushi right around the corner with a sleek bistro ambiance.

GLOBE
One of the best restaurants located on “the Main.” Great fresh-from-the-market cuisine in a stylish urban setting.

GANDHI
One of Montreal’s finest Indian restaurants. Outstanding home-style cooking.

DNA RESTAURANT
This restaurant has a decidedly surprising décor with glass panes surrounding the tables, providing guests with added intimacy, plus a lounge that is extremely colourful. The menu is simple, but tantalizing, featuring Mediterranean influences mostly from the south of Italy. Plate presentation is alluring and the service is exceedingly friendly – characteristics that differentiate this hotspot from the scores of other chic Montreal restaurants. The name DNA is derived from the co-owners’ initials – Derek and Alex.

CLUB CHASSE ET PÊCHE
This restaurant offers a doubly delightful menu: fish and seafood plus game. The food is innovative and absolutely delicious. While the subdued décor features a somewhat masculine palette, the vibe is upbeat, spreading vitality in its Old Montreal neighborhood.

JOE BEEF
The food is delicious and, contrary to the establishment’s name, the specialty is fish and seafood. Close your eyes for a moment and you’ll feel as if you’re in a bustling London pub.

CAVALLI
Located in the heart of downtown, the restaurant is similar to those you would find on the Main (Saint-Laurent Street). Very New York in style with its contemporary décor and vast spaces spread over two floors. Its extremely modern Italian cuisine is far from traditional.

RESTAURANT EUROPEA
Without a doubt, one of Montreal’s finest restaurants. Mediterranean décor, impeccably attentive and friendly service, delectable cuisine.

LES TROIS PETITS BOUCHONS
The “three little corks” (trois petits bouchons) refers to Xavier Burini, Michel Charette, and Audrey Dufresne, whose passion for fine food permeates the kitchen and dining room. Remember their names—these three hosts could become your new best friends.
